The Publishing Process with BEI:
Stage 1 - Abstract / Proposal Submission
We invite you to submit your Abstract or Proposal. At this point,
only a simple Title Page and one-page summary of what the
paper will entail is required. Visit our Paper Guidelines
for examples of both an Abstract and a Title Page. Once you have completed
these files, e-mail them as Microsoft Word documents to
Review@BusEconInstitute.com
to begin the review process.
*Note* If your full, complete paper is ready for submission you
may skip Stage 1 and the complete paper will be initially judged using
BEI's Final Publication criteria.
Stage 2 - Double-blind, Peer-review of your Submission
Your Abstract / Submission will be sent to members of our Review Board. These members (mostly PhDs and some Associate Professors) will review your submission, retaining your anonymity, without consulting one another. They will either (a) approve the submission as-is or (b) deny the validity of the submission's premise. For denied submissions, comments from reviewers are included often leading to eventual acceptance. Depending upon the time of year (Final Exams, Summer Break, and other Holidays) and our busy presenters' schedules, authors receive feedback in 3 - 10 business days.
Stage 3 - Acceptance and Invitation to Present at Conference
An Acceptance Letter is e-mailed to the author indicated as the correspondence contact on the Title Page (in the case of multiple authors). The Acceptance Letter includes an invitation to present the paper at one of the Business Economics Institute's upcoming International Conferences as well as detailing further Registration instructions. This document is a high-quality scan, personalized on letterhead, and signed by one of our Program Chairpersons. For authors foreign to the host nation of the Conference, this is the document you will use to obtain your Visitor Visa, if required.
Stage 4 - Registration Form and Registration Fee(s)
The Registration materials for the Conference may be found on our
Registration
page. Registration simply entails sending in the completed
Registration Form (via e-mail, fax, or post) and submitting all applicable Registration Fees by:
a. Credit Card via PayPal* or Google Checkout*
b. eCheck via PayPal*
c. Bank Transfer
d. Business / University Check
e. Personal Check from US Residents
* PayPal and Google Checkout may require signing up for an easy, free, secure account depending upon your country. Many countries do not need to establish a new account. All fees may be paid via PayPal while only Registration Fees may be paid via Google Checkout.
At least one author must be registered to present
the paper at a BEI Conference in order to publish in either the Conference Proceedings
or a refereed BEI Journal (papers may be presented in Absentia, if necessary).
Stage 5 - Submission to Conference Proceedings and/or BEI Journal
The Conference Proceedings / Journal Submission process is very similar to Stage 1.
Instead, BEI's Final Publication requirements will be used by reviewers and all Final Papers will
be concurrently judged for the author's choice of publication in either:
(a) Conference Proceedings (via CD-ROM),
(b) a refereed BEI Journal (in hardcopy),
or (c) both Proceedings and Journal, depending upon the author's preference.
Again, the author will be notified within 3 - 10 business days regarding acceptance and, if accepted, it is
the author's choice as to publish in either (a), (b), or (c). Different Submissions
Deadlines and Fees may apply for Proceedings vs Journal and authors may submit papers as early as they like.
Stage 6 - Presentation at BEI International Conference
You will have the opportunity to present your paper and enjoy these benefits:
- Gain valuable insight through Colleagues' questions and comments
- Network with Colleagues from around the globe
- Earn a promotion through the experience and being published
- Increase the Prestige of your University or Company
- Relax and enjoy Fabulous Las Vegas ! ! !
Presentations are grouped by Topic, according to the code given on the
Title Page. Specific presentation details are provided for authors along
with the Schedule of Events, etc. about a month before the Conference.
Authors unable to physically attend a BEI Conference due to Visa Denial,
Insufficient Funding, etc. are encouraged to present in Absentia.
Stage 7 - Final Paper Submission for BEI Journal Publication
BEI's Journal Submission Deadline is after the conference to allow authors
to incorporate comments and questions from the activities to be included in their final, published
Journal paper. The final submission shall be within the scope of
the already-accepted Abstract / Proceedings submission in order to be eligible for publication.
If the author is satisfied with their initial Abstract / Proceedings paper submission,
no further submission is necessary.
*Note* It is NOT necessary to complete Stage 7 if the authors have
chosen not to publish in a refereed BEI Journal.
Stage 8 - Final Paper Publication
The following must be satisfied to be considered for publication:
(a) Final Submission Deadlines for publication in Conference Proceedings
(via CD-ROM) or a refereed BEI Journal (via hardcopy) must be met, following
all Paper Guidelines formatting, etc.
(b) Reviewers must recommend the Final Paper for Publication
(c) Registration process fulfilled, including payment of Registration Fees
(d) Paper Presentation at a Business Economics Institute Conference
(in Absentia is acceptable)
(e) Approval of Editor
*Note* It is NOT necessary to complete Stage 8 if the authors have
chosen not to publish in a refereed BEI Journal.
